Hi, everybody!
We are the team of the New Media Workshop at the “New Media. All interactive. All public” seminar organized by the European Youth Press in the European Parliament and we’re delighted to present our work during 3 days of seminars, panel discussions and workshops.
Our new media workshop focused mostly on how do European Institutions communicate online and whether they are reaching their audience the way they planned.
The main questions we wanted to find an answer for in our new media production were:
Is new media a platform for democratic participation?
Are new media changing the balance of power?
Can European institutions ever communicate like Obama?
Find our answers, our opinions, our thoughts and ideas in the following articles uploaded on this webpage. We tried to catch images, to write down stories, to record interviews and to give you a glimpse of how’s the life of a journalist inside the European Parliament, reporting for new media on how the EU institutions make use of such tools.
We also had the opportunity to meet Simon McDermott, co-founder of Attentio (social media agency), founder of New Media Cloud and non-Executive Director of the free magazine The Word.
Please don’t hesitate to join our team and write about whatever preoccupies you, as young journalists across the world!
